Nikki Barry is the founder of Om On Yoga & Wellness and over the past two decades has dedicated her life to yoga and wellness.

Yoga found Nikki at the age of 16 where she began to establish a regular asana and meditation practice. Her path lead her to a career in health and wellness, some achievements include; a successful content and program writing for Certificate III to Diploma levels in (Fitness, Massage and Natural Medicine) for Australia’s leading independent colleges such as FIA, AIF and ACNT, a lecturer in the area of health and fitness for over 17 years and a former elite gymnast.

Drawing from these experiences combined with a vision to see others change their lives through yoga, Nikki’s grounded and light hearted teachings speak directly to her students. She challenges them to break free from their self-limiting beliefs and asks them to seek a life that aligns them with unlimited potential.

Nikki will tell you the impact Yoga has had in transforming her life. She enjoys sharing her personal journey with an open heart and how she continues to discover more depth, growth and acceptance within herself. She genuinely believes transformation and personal growth is available to us all. The Om On Yoga vision is to deliver a practice that enhances lives and transforms minds.

Three years ago my life changed after stepping into a yoga studio. At the time I was looking for something to compliment my weight training, and I had no idea what to expect from yoga. It was hard, hot and I had no idea what half the words meant, but at the end of the practice and felt this sense of euphoria which I’d never experienced before. At the time I wasn’t sure what it was but I knew I wanted to experience it again. From that day forward I have been hooked.

As my fascination and obsession with yoga has grown my weight training has been outshined by my new obsession. Whether its learning a new asana, new breathing techniques or diving deeper into the philosophy I find myself discovering and learning much more about myself. Being able to push and challenge myself physically, mentally and spiritually all at once is truly incredible.

When I’m not on the mat practicing you’ll find me outside in nature exploring. My other passions include photography, fitness, the water and food. Life is about experiences and I try to live fully each and everyday.

I completed my 200 hour Teacher Training in 2017 and have recently completed my Certificate III & IV in Fitness and I’m always searching for new things to help me evolve.

People that inspire me in the yoga world are Patrick Beach and Dylan Werner. Their mix of strength and grace is something I aspire to and am constantly working towards. I love transitioning through arms balances and handstands and finding a lightness in the strength. I am learning more and more each day that yoga is a lifestyle, not just a 90 minute escape from reality. Yoga has become my reality and I want to share that with the world.
